Hiring? Employer space

Cost per hire

Cost per hire is what a company spent to hire one person through a given channel: everything it invested (attendance, travel, staff time), divided by the number of hires that channel produced.

The formula

  • Formula

Cost per hire = amount invested (euros) divided by the number of hires.

  • Example

Targeted event: 12,000 euros invested, 4 hires, so 3,000 euros per hire.

What cost per hire is not

It is not cost per application or cost per attendee: those two indicators measure earlier steps in the funnel, before the hire itself.
